There are many accommodation options available within and bordering the park ranging from Self-Catering and Hostels to Hotels and Bed and Breakfasts to Camping and Caravan sites. Depending on one's budget, there is something for everyone. For a list of accommodation options in Co. Wicklow, see http://www.visitwicklow.ie/accommodation/index.htm.
The majority of these options are focused on urban centres such as towns and villages, but some can be found in more remote areas. Glendalough is the focal point for most visitors to the park and so the village and its surrounding area has developed a wide range of accommodation options, including two Hotels, an International Youth Hostel and a large number of Bed and Breakfasts. The types of accommodation available in and around the park are explained below.
Hotels represent the more expensive but luxurious choice of accommodation and can range in ratings. Hotels can be found at Glendalough, Laragh, Wicklow Town, Macreddin Village and Aughrim.
Hostels represent a cheaper option of accommodation. The Irish branch of the International Youth Hostel Association is called 'An Óige' and they have a number of hostels within and bordering the park. Each hostel varies in the services it provides and to learn more on each individually go to www.anoige.ie. A number of independent hostels can also be found in the area.
Bed and Breakfasts give visitors to the area the opportunity to stay in a genuine Irish home and receive the much-heralded Irish hospitality. B&B&'s offer a night's stay and breakfast and they are by far the most numerous accommodation option available in Wicklow. Depending on your preference you can choose from town, farm or country houses.
There are no serviced camping and caravan sites within the Park. The majority of caravan/camping sites in Co. Wicklow can be found stretching along the eastern seaboard between Wicklow and Arklow towns. However two sites can be found closer to the Park in Roundwood and Rathdrum villages. These sites vary in the services they offer and the prices they charge. Camping is not permitted in the Glendalough Valley.
