Glendalough Nature Trails

The Education team have developed Nature Trail notes to accompany some of the Walking Trails of Glendalough. These leaflets may be downloaded (see below), and are also available from the Information Office. When using the Nature Trail leaflets, it is advisable to refer to the Walking Trails of Glendalough map for a full route description.

It is planned to develop nature trail leaflets for most of the Glendalough walks. At present, the following Nature Trail leaflets are available:

Mammal Walk

This 5km walk starts and finishes at the Information Office and follows the Miners’ Road Walk (purple arrows). This route is way marked by purple arrows, is graded ‘easy’ & takes about 1 hour. You won’t see our mammals as often or as easily as our birds. They are shy and mostly come out at night or when we are not around. So we look for the tracks and signs they leave behind.
