The Education Centre of the Wicklow Mountains National Park offers Nature Awareness Days to summer projects during the months of July and August. The aim of the centre is to foster an awareness and love of nature in all visitors to the National Park. We do this through a series of fun activities—treasure hunts, bug hunts, nature hikes, etc. Please read the practicalities on How To Book when trying to plan your day.
The children are encouraged to explore nature using a variety of fun activities that make full use of the five senses. Summer Project groups vary greatly in their ages and timetables, and we are happy to tailor our day to suit most groups. A typical Nature Awareness day might include some of the following activities:
