Whether taking a short stroll, following a way marked trail, or going for a serious hike across the mountains, walking is the most popular recreational activity within the National Park.
There is an extensive network of nine way-marked walking trails in the valley of Glendalough. Trail times vary from 30 minutes to four hours. Large maps of the walks are displayed at the Monastic City Visitor Centre and on the Notice Board at the Upper Lake car park.
