Oakwoods in Glendalough

Oakwoods in Glendalough

The Sessile Oaks in Glendalough are only just getting their leaves here in May. The woods in Glendalough are very open with minimal understory shrubs due to the grazing of the valley's deer and goats. Nevertheless, the area is a home for Redstarts and Wood Warblers in the summer months, both of which like an open woodland.
