National Park Information Office
The Information Office for the National Park is located 200 metres from the Upper Lake Car Park in Glendalough. Due to Covid-19 and the small size of our Information Office, we are currently only offering our service via an Information hatch. The staff on duty are happy to answer any query, no matter how curious. We are also giving out free walking trail maps here. Please follow the queueing system.
Lost property, lost visitor, first aid and emergency facilities are also available here.
Information Office Opening Hours:
LEVEL 5 RESTRICTIONS: The Information Office shall remain closed from the 24th December due to the return to Level 5 restrictions.
Until then, the Information Office is open 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
(Please note that the National Park is open day and night, all year round. However the Information Office is only open at certain times.)
Wildlife & Sensory Garden
Behind the Information Office is a tiny garden that has been designed to appeal to all the senses and also to attract wildlife. Visitors are encourages to smell and touch the plants, listen to nature’s sounds, and admire the planting. Nature abounds. There is a wildlife pond with frogs and dragonflies. Butterflies, bees and hoverflies feed on the flowers in the borders. Bats and birds enjoy the garden too.
The garden is open during the spring and summer, between 10a.m. and 5p.m. It is closed in winter.
