Due to Helicopter operations, certain areas of the National Park shall be closed to walkers, as follows:
Glenealo Valley, Monday 28th November:
Access to the Glenealo Valley will be restricted on Monday 28th for safety reasons. We will be flying in stone and gravel for pathworks on the white route. Access to the Spinc blue and red routes is still permitted. The section from the Glenealo bridge to the Miner’s village closed to visitors for the day.
Barnacullian Ridge, Tuesday 29th November:
On Tuesday 29th November between 9:00am and 5:00pm there will be significant disruption for walkers on the Barnacullian Ridge (O 077 044) taking place due to Helicopter Operations transporting Bogland Restoration Materials. We ask that all members of the public avoid this location during the period in question.
Potentially restrictions could stretch on into the week as we are dependent on good weather to operate, so expect closures at short notice.
For any queries please contact the National Park Duty Ranger on 087 – 980 3899.
